WELCOME BACK TO THE STUDIOS!
As of Monday, March 22 Governor Cuomo has finally allowed “indoor group fitness” classes to resume, and starting April 1 our instructors will be back on the podium! Since the announcement, we’ve been scrambling to line up staff and build out the schedule, but we’ve also been fielding TONS of questions from our community. We cannot wait to welcome you back into the studio, and we hope this helps clarify things and gets you excited to return!
WHAT’S HAPPENING WITH LIVE STREAM?
This is the #1 question we’ve gotten, so we figured we’d start here… Live Stream classes will continue!
For the time being — as we take a phased approach to reopening the studios — ONLY Original Hot Yoga will be offered in-studio. If you love HIIT, great! You can still find plenty of options via Live Stream; same with Vinyasa and Yin Yoga. And even Original Hot Yoga. We know that some people may not be ready to return to the studios just yet, so please continue to utilize Live Streaming. It has become a key piece to our business over the past year, and we intend to take it with us into this new normal.
CAN WE TALK ABOUT IN-STUDIO OFFERINGS?
For the time being, we’re focusing just on our Upper East Side studio. There are lots of moving pieces, and because of that, we need to take a systematic approach to the reopening. Once things are settled there, we will turn our attention to the other locations. Right now there are three key offerings:
SELF PRACTICE SESSIONS - At the moment we’re using the North Studio for something we call Self-Practice Sessions. Each slot is capped at just 4 people, and an audio recording will guide practitioners through the 26 + 2 yoga series.
INSTRUCTOR-LED CLASSES - In the South Studio we’re opening up the capacity to meet the city and state guidelines (33% capacity = 16 people). For the time being, we’re staying well below that number (12ppl).
IN-STUDIO AUDIO CLASSES - Each day we are also going to offer a handful of regular classes without a teacher. These will also be capped at 33%, but done to an audio recording (either 60 or 75 min).

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT THE STUDIOS?
We are closely following the city and state guidelines, as well as the recommendations from the CDC. Please be aware of the following as you plan for your first visit back to the studios:
In-Studio Policies
Masks MUST be worn at all times, even throughout your practice.
Staff and practitioners must maintain a 6 foot distance from others.
Socks are to be worn in the lobby and studios until you get onto your mat.
Cell phones are prohibited in the studios.
You may use the lockers, but showers will be unavailable until further notice.
Please bring your mat, towels, and class essentials. Props and other rentals will not be available.
Online booking is required. Walk-ins will not be permitted.
For the safety of others, we ask that you arrive on time and do your best not to linger after.
If you feel under the weather, we ask that you please stay home.
There is a strict 24-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel within that window, the system automatically deducts the class from your account.
CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE MASKS?
We know! It seems crazy to practice in a mask, but honestly it’s not that bad. We’ve found that the lightweight, surgical masks offer the best airflow, and many of our practitioners have commented that they forgot all about the mask by the time they got to Eagle Pose. There are even Silicone Mask Inserts available on Amazon for just a couple of bucks that help keep them cool.
WHAT ABOUT MY MEMBERSHIP?
This is probably the #2 question, and for good reason… We’ve spoken with many of our practitioners, and the thing we kept hearing over and over again is the need for flexibility. Some people have moved away, others will be working remotely for the foreseeable future (maybe forever). People didn’t want to pay for unlimited classes if they weren’t going to be able to take advantage of those benefits. Couple that with the limited capacity restrictions, and we realized the Prime Membership just didn’t make sense anymore.
Allow us to introduce you to our new All-Access Membership!
For a monthly fee of $89, you’ll get all of these great benefits:
Priority 10-Day Booking

DO I NEED TO BECOME A MEMBER?
Absolutely not!
The All-Access Membership offers some terrific perks — especially if you’re going to maintain a regular practice — but you’re also free to just purchase a Single Class, or a 5 or 10-Pack of Classes. You can do that right here on the website by logging into your account, or by downloading our sleek, new app.
WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER STUDIOS?
There is no specific timeline yet, but know that we are just as anxious as you are to get things back to a normal routine. We will continue to keep you updated via e-mail, website, and social media. In the meantime, we hope you’ll join us at Upper East. The ventilation system has been upgraded, and they’ve never looked better.
Now all we need is the community!
