Born and raised in Milan, Italy, Kiara moved to New York at the age of 20. Kiara has been introduced to movement as a tool of self-discovery through dance since when she was a child . She studied, danced and taught dance to children in her early 20’s and even though it was more a hobby than a profession, she dedicated many years invested in dance education.
Kiara was introduced to Bikram Yoga in 2007 and fell in love with it right away. One day a friend of hers mentioned Bikram Yoga. He said, “Come with me, I went to this class, people are nuts there! It is so crazy challenging!” She looked at him and with a doubtless smile said, “YES! I’ll come, but I don’t think I can find anything more challenging than my dance rehearsals!” The next day, before a performance, she joined him for a class and she absolutely loved every minute of it. Kiara started to practice daily and joined the work study program at bodē nyc, and in 2012 became a certified Bikram yoga teacher. Kiara says, “I started to practice yoga to increase my flexibility and stay in shape only to find out that there was so much more to yoga than being bendy. Yoga allows me on a daily basis to develop a healthier and more honest relationship with my body and my self. The more I practiced the more I loved it and the more I went back to it the more I started to understand what needed to happen within myself in order not to allow the mind to get in my own way.”
Kiara stopped dancing around the age of 27. She says, “I have struggled with dance and with my body for years, mostly because I never knew how to have a healthy relationship with either. Bikram yoga has definitely taught me to understand how everything external is a reflection of the relationship we have with our own selves.”
Kiara has been teaching Bikram yoga full time since 2012. In addition, she started to explore other forms of yoga and fitness as well and attended a few more teacher trainings to broaden her knowledge and to become more versatile as a teacher and as a practitioner.

“My yoga class is that sweltering day. It’s one long, hot meditation. We put incredible pressure on you to teach you to break your attachment to external things and go within. Instead of blaming others for your own weakness, fear and depression, you will learn to take responsibility for your own life. You’ve got to face yourself in the mirror, every part you don’t like, every mistake you make, every excuse your mind creates to limit your potential liberation–there’s nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. No escape from reality. With these kinds of demands on your abilities and attention, you will soon forget that there is anyone on the next mat in the classroom, much less notice what they are wearing. After you learn to discipline your body and mind under these conditions, you will truly be able to concentrate; no external will be able to break your powerful focus. That’s why I say the the darkest place in the world is under the brightest lamp. In the Torture Chamber of my class, you will find a beautiful light, and the source of that light is within you.”
