Jon Peterson – primarily an actor by trade – began studying Bikram Yoga in 2002, after a director that he worked with a lot, Baayork Lee, made him go to a class with her.
It did the trick and Jon has been doing this practice ever since.
After having a hole-in-the-heart repaired in 2003, which was a major interruption in Jon’s life, doing the Yoga helped maintain and then improve his heart’s health and send it on a journey back to health, and in 2010 Jon took the teacher training and became a certified as a Bikram Yoga teacher.
Jon’s view of the yoga is that it’s an absolutely amazing part of one’s tool-kit of well-being; together with good diet, positive attitude and other forms of physical activity such as the gym, or sport. Jon isn’t a great believer in one thing being the answer to it all, but the collective tool-kit probably is!
Jon likes to encourage a happy class – strict, structured yes, but happy and lighthearted too – otherwise, what’s the point in getting out of bed?
