Yoga was initially a form of therapy for Jenny. It provided her a means to counteract the stresses exerted upon her body by her professional dance career, which included a prolonged tenure with Pilobolus Dance Theater. As she kept on with her practice, she discovered in yoga a source of calm that empowered her to manage the hustle-and-bustle of modern life. Yoga also became for her, an endless wellspring of inspiration and a map to countless paths to self-discovery. It was a passion to share the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga that drove her to become a teacher. And so, in 2011 she attained her 200-DYRT teaching certification from Dharma Mittra through the Dharma Yoga Center. She also holds an 80 Hour Barkan Level II & III Teacher Certification from The Barkan Method, a 50 Hour Hot Yoga Teacher Certification from PURE Yoga, and a 32 Hour Restorarive Yoga and Yoga Nidra Teacher Certification from Sho Higuchi through mang’ Oh Yoga. Jenny is also certified in Hot HIIT and mat pilates. Additionally, she has been shown the ways of absolute love as well as how to do a perfect updog and downdog by her furry four-legged flower child, Frida.
Jenny’s goal for each and every class is simple: She wants her students to walk out of her class feeling better than when they walked in, physically, mentally, and spiritually. Her classes draw from ashtanga, bikram, hatha and vinyasa yoga with a focus on alignment, mindful sequencing and inspirational music. She hopes her students will leave her class feeling refreshed, and ready to begin afresh.
