After being in business since 1999 and bringing the original “Hot Yoga” to New York, Donna is very excited to launch the new Brand “bodē nyc ” which features the best of Bikram Yoga NYC as well as many new offerings which she believes will enhance the experience of the customers.
Donna was integral in launching both the regional and national USA Yoga Asana Championship series and served as one of its first judges. Donna has also taught workshops in Costa Rica, led conferences in New York and has headlined the Summer Solstice “Mind over Madness” in Times Square.
Hobbies that are close to her heart include producing Cabaret Shows in New York featuring the talent of many customers and employees of bodē nyc. She also received several awards for the documentary she produced called “An Improbable Dream” that aired on CBC Canada featuring her and her classmates from Canada’s National Ballet School in Toronto.
Donna is also available for private sessions and specializes in teaching the absolute beginner to make them feel comfortable in the yoga environment as well as helping clients to practice in a safe way so as not to injure themselves. After all, we teach yoga and practice yoga for our overall well being.
Donna stumbled upon Bikram Yoga by accident while visiting her sister in Florida. The only yoga studio in the area was a Bikram inspired studio. After 3 days she was hooked when she realized that her body felt better, more flexible, and more in shape than after anything other form of yoga or exercise she did. After practicing regularly she realized that the physical and emotional benefits were something that needed to be shared and that set in motion a career transition from performer to yoga teacher to studio owner.
Inspiration These words helped inspire real change in my life:
Do the best you can for today.
As long as you try 100 percent the right way you get 100 percent of the benefits.
This really helped me not be so hard on myself and gave me the space to be open to change.
