Beginning Wednesday, February 1st, we’re getting with the times and offering 100% of our spots available for online reservations. Please take a moment to read this important announcement to insure you are guaranteed a spot in class.

This policy change primarily impacts our busier class times, such as weekday evenings and weekends. In the past, we’ve allowed two-thirds of a class to be booked online, and have left one-third of spots available for walk in students. For example, in a room that holds 30 people, 20 can book online and 10 spots are left for walk in students.

With the demand for space in our classes growing, we wanted to offer more of you the opportunity to guarantee a spot ahead of time, instead of arriving at the studio unsure if you’ll get a spot. With this change, we ask that you book your classes in advance using our free mobile app or on our website.

If a class you want to take indicates “Waitlist Only,” you can add yourself and we’ll notify you if/when the space becomes available. All automated waitlist notification emails and text messages will be delivered 1 or more hours before the class is due to begin. If you have not received a notification less than 1 hour before a class begins, you’re welcome to come to the studio and see if there are any last minute cancellations.

Walk-in bookings are always welcome when space is available

Once sign in has begun (30 minutes before class), all clients from the online waitlists will receive priority over clients who are not on the waitlist if there are any cancellations or no shows as long as they are at the studio. Reminder that Bikram Yoga NYC requires all students to check in no later than 7 minutes before class begins or their spot will be given way. Unlimited memberships holders (For example, Auto-Renew, Yearly, etc.) will be automatically charged a $10 no show fee, and class card holders (5 class card, 10 class card, etc.) will be docked one class, when reserving online but fail to cancel online 1 hour before class or don’t show up for class.

For more information about waitlists, click here.

If you’re unable to secure a spot online, you’re welcome to walk-in, however we wont know if we can offer you a spot in class until 7 minutes before when we release any no show reservations.

Thank you for your understanding. If you have any questions, feel free to call us at any of the numbers listed at the bottom of this page, or click here to send us an email.

The class I want to take is already full! What options do I have to be automatically added to the class if someone else cancels?

When a class is full for online reservations, next to the booking button on our website, or on the confirmation screen in our app, you’ll see a message about joining the waitlist.

Joining a waitlist

On our website, start by clicking Login|Register in the top right corner of your screen. After you’ve logged in, navigate to the class you would like to take, and if the class indicates “Waitlist Only”, click Book It anyway. You will then be added waitlist.

Web Waitlists

Mobile Waitlists using our app

To be added to a waitlist using our free mobile app, start by taping the class you would like to take. From there, tap Add to Waitlist. You will then be added to the waitlist.

What Now?

So you’re on the waitlist, but now what? What number are you? How are you notified if a spot becomes available? In our mobile app, it’s as simple as refreshing the schedule or clicking “My Waitlists” – even if you’ve booked on the web. In the same row as the class you’re waitlisted for, your position in line will now be revealed.

Our online reservation policy states that students who can not attend class must cancel their reservation least 60 minutes before class. Accordingly, notifications to individuals on the waitlist will be delivered at least 1 hour before class, or longer, depending on what time the student holding a reservation cancelled it.

As busy New Yorkers, our time is valuable.

So valuable that it is sometimes difficult to fit a 90 minute class into your day and still meet all of your other obligations. While we do still recommend taking the full 90 minute version of the series to get 100% of the practice benefits, we’ve continued to increase our 60 and 75 minute class offerings on the schedule.

Have you tried one of these slightly abbreviated classes? Why not book one today and see if it’s right for you?

This Saturday we’re replacing the flooring in the 3rd floor studio at Bikram Yoga NYC Flatiron. This will be our third time installing the new anti-microbial flooring (UWS and UES North room complete) and the first time at our Flatiron location. Luckily, we only need to cancel two classes in order to get the job done.

  • 7am with Sandra Lerner – Canceled
  • 10am with Omri Kleinberger – Canceled

From Zebra Flooring, the manufacturer:

Made from recycled materials, our studio tile flooring is not only smell resistant, but it is easy on muscles and joints, allowing yogis and their instructors to focus solely on breathing and posture. This ease on muscles and joints also allow for a quicker recovery, allowing yogis the opportunity to get back to their practice a lot faster.

Below are the remaining classes for Saturday, Novembe 28th at Flatiron.

By upping our online pre-registration capacity to 80% instead of our previous 67%, there will be more spots we can offer to our students online, and more of our students will feel secure knowing their spot in class is guaranteed. As a policy reminder, if you have pre-registered in advance, you must arrive at least 7 minutes before class begins, the spot will be given away to someone on the waitlist.
