Prince Tribute Class

Join us on May 14th, 7pm at Bikram Yoga NYC Flatiron as we pay homage to music legend Prince. This class, led by Upkar Chana and Charly Seamon with a set-list by Nick Graham will feature Prince’s most popular tunes to his most obscure, ranging from the late 70s to present day.

We lost a musical genius on April 21st, 2016, as well as a great philanthropist. His legacy lives on not only in his music, but in the MANY charities he donated to and founded. While this great humanitarian kept his philanthropic contributions quiet, he gave donations and himself to many charities including: PETA, The Elton John AIDS Foundation, City Of Hope, H.A.L.O, Jazz Foundation of America, The Elevate Hope Foundation, Urban Farming, The Bridge, Harlem’s Children Zone, Black Lives Matter, Green For All, Edith Couey Memorial Scholarship Fund and #YesWeCode.

He was the vision behind #YesWeCode, a national initiative to help 100,000+ low opportunity men and women find success in the tech sector. We are asking for a minimum donation of $25.00 to join this celebratory event. Proceeds will go to #YesWeCode and costs to make this class possible.

Relax to Stretch Deeper with Omri

We all experience tightness in our bodies, chronic aches and pains, often in the same places again and again. Old injuries, scoliosis, bad posture, and even deep emotional stress are examples of why we may feel limited in our movement. Traditionally we address these with body work, but is that a successful long term solution to this problem? do you feel the tightness coming back again and again? you might even think by now thats just how your body is, that you’re destined to live with chronic tension.

In this workshop we will learn about and explore the principals of misuse that lead to chronic tension, and how to observe the physical and mental connections that entrench them. Using this heightened awareness, you will learn how to self-correct your tensions by strategically “letting go”. Learning these principals has the incredible potential to change how you move throughout your day, how you practice, even how you sleep.

Discussion and sharing will be encouraged.

About Francisco

Francisco Morales-Bermudez founded Synergy Partner Yoga in 2005. Since then his mission has been to share this practice in order to assist people in alleviating pain in their bodies, maintaining physical well-being and cultivating trust, connection and a playful vibration.

Francisco grew up in Lima, Peru where he spent time in the ocean, playing soccer and becoming intrigued with healing touch. His intrigue turned into a passion and for many years he studied and learned from different art forms and exercise systems.

Francisco studied: creative movement through afro-peruvian folkloric dances and performances & breakdancing yoga “School of Life” yoga ashram with Victor Landa, Bikram yoga, yoga with Dharma Mittra and Rusty Wells. He also studied capoeira angola (an afro-brazilian martial art) with Mestre Cobra Mansa healing touch & thai massage with Kam Thye Chow. These experiences contributed to the formation of Synergy Partner Yoga today.

Francisco discovered that by creating a practice that brought together aspects of the art forms he studied, cultivated the space for healing. A healing that affected people emotionally, physically and spiritually in a profoundly positive way. Seeing how this practice changed his life and how it built community, transformed the way people relate and interact with each other, he decided to make it his mission to share what he had learned with as many people as possible.

Today Synergy has traveled to homes, studios and families around the Globe. It continues to expand and touch peoples lives through the growing, dedicated Synergy Teacher family, supported and guided by Francisco. Francisco conducts workshops, classes, teacher trainings, and continues to learn, evolve and grow through developing Synergy Partner Yoga as well as from the people he meets and the places on his life journey.

Special Event: Backbending & Meditation Workshop

What do we do with our pain? Do we let it destroy us? Or, do we let it transform us? Yarrow Kae invites you on a journey through your heart center into the most vulnerable places of you. She takes you to the places that have brought you deep pain in order to alchemize it into light. To begin that journey she will tell you her story, how she sat with her pain, and how she learned and grew from that pain.

This is a vinyasa flow and backbend workshop designed to crack open our heart chakra, which holds our most potent emotional pain. Together we will dissolve blockages that keep us from reaching our fullest potential, ones that keep us trapped within our pain. Under her expert guidance we will identify the pain, release it, and transform it into light, love, beauty & poetry.

Some of the greatest art has been made as a result of emotional pain. The more quickly you get in touch with yours the more quickly you will be able to alchemize it into light and give your unique gift to the world.

Workshop includes:

  • 75 min vinyasa flow and backbend workshop to ignite your heart
  • kundalini meditation techniques to remove blockages

Master Class Series: John Salvatore

We’re excited to present the next installment of our new Master Class Series!

John Salvatore was one of Bikram Yoga NYC’s very first instructors and was a mentor to many in our current teaching staff – he’s a Teacher’s Teacher! While many of our long time students will remember John and his amazing classes, the name might also be unknown for many. The unfamiliarity may be due to John’s new location in Las Vegas, Nevada where he has a starring role in the stage version of the popular Jersey Boys musical.

His Master class on the 17th will be the first time John has led one with us in over 5 years. The class will be an interactive session, breaking down each posture, discussing biomechanics, alignment, breath, depth and much more for each of the 26 postures and two breathing exercises in the Bikram method.

ABOUT JOHN
I decided to go to my first yoga class after a friend told me that it was the hottest and most challenging workout they have ever done. I never did yoga before in my life, but for some reason I felt compelled to go that very day. It was called Bikram yoga. Little did I know that this so-called “workout” I was about to casually throw myself into would end up changing my life. After my first class I was hooked. I practiced every day for 2 years before I made the decision to become a teacher. I honestly felt that it was a sin to keep this wonderful thing all for myself. I had to share it and felt inspired to pass on this amazing gift I had received. It was my duty. I graduated from Bikram Yoga’s teacher training in the spring of 2001. Since then, I have been teaching not only in my hometown in New York City, but all over the United States and now here in fabulous Las Vegas. Don’t ever give up, don’t ever lose hope and don’t quit 5 seconds before the miracle.
