Join Jenny for a fun and playful two hour arm-balancing workshop breaking down the fundamental elements of arm balances. This workshop is designed for the beginner and experienced yogi who want to learn or improve their arm balances and understand how they work. Gain confidence and strength by relying less on force and more on body mechanics and body intelligence so you are better able to approach the poses with mindfulness and ease.
This workshop will start with a short dharma chat, followed by a dynamic flow to warm up the body, and will include biomechanical drills to help students understand the physics of each pose in preparation to take flight! Time will be spent on breaking down the mechanics of specific arm balances, with and without the use of props, while exploring fun variations and working towards
more complex and challenging postures. The workshop will conclude with a guided Nidra savasana and Q&A.
About Jenny: Jenny is an experienced 200-hour Yoga Alliance certified instructor at bodē nyc. She is actively pursuing her 500-hour Yoga certification and is currently enrolled at Prema Yoga Institute in New York City, working towards becoming a certified Yoga Therapist. Known for her challenging and creative sequencing, Jenny’s classes encourage exploration and experimentation as she uses her multidisciplinary approach to teach a wide variety of offerings.
Jenny began her movement journey as a dancer in her youth. In her 20’s she began to incorporate yoga into her life as a form of therapy. It provided her a means to counteract the stresses exerted upon her body by her professional dance career, which included a prolonged tenure with Pilobolus Dance Theater. As she kept on with her practice, she discovered in yoga a source of calm that empowered her to manage the hustle-and-bustle of modern life. Yoga also became for her an endless wellspring of inspiration and a map to countless paths to self-discovery. Her passion to share the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga drove her to become a teacher. She currently teaches yoga in the NYC area, both privately and in group classes.
