ETIQUETTE & GUIDELINES

STUDIO POLICIES

We value your loyalty and dedication to your practice. As a business that focuses on both the mind and body, we strive to maintain a peaceful and positive environment. Please be respectful of your fellow practitioners and our bodē nyc staff. Any aggressive, disruptive or sexually suggestive behavior will not be tolerated.

Please note that our studios do not accept cash.

CHECK IN POLICY:

  • Sign-in starts 30 minutes before class, and the front door locks 5 minutes before class starts. Due to limited staff, we will not be able to accommodate latecomers.

  • Clients must sign in at the front desk before entering the locker room.

    • If you are new to our studios, you must be signed-in and in the yoga room 5 minutes before the start time of your first class. This is both for your safety and to make your experience as enjoyable as possible.

    • Regular practitioners must be in the room before the class starts. We may be able to accommodate you if you can be in the room right after Pranayama Breathing (Original Hot Yoga classes).

  • Please note, if you’ve reserved online and have not checked in 5 minutes prior to class start time, your spot will be given to a practitioner on the waitlist if there is a waitlist for the class.

  • Please use the app or website to book your space ahead of time. Walk-ins may be accommodated if space and time allow.

CANCELLATIONS/NO-SHOWS
Single Class, Class Packs, and Monthly Memberships

  • If you’re signed up for a class and need to cancel, please do so 12 hours before the class starts. Otherwise, you’re a no-show.

  • Prime Members or anyone on time-limited package will incur a late-cancel fee of $15 and a no-show fee of $20.

  • If you are on a class pack or limited class auto pay (Basic, Core, Essential) your package will automatically be deducted.

Please note that we are not able to accept phone or email cancellations.

BOOKING AND WAITLISTING

  • We limit all our classes at a reasonable number of clients (75% of pre-covid spots) so that everyone has plenty of space.  If the class you want is available on the app/website, book it.  If there aren’t any spots left, put your name on the waitlist

  • If you put your name on the waitlist and a spot opens up 12 hours before class start time, you’ll get an email and/or text.

  • If you no longer can attend class, make sure to cancel before the 12 hour mark. We assume that if you’re on the waitlist 12 hours before a class starts and get into that class, you’re coming.

  • If a class is full, or you didn’t make it into the class from the waitlist, you’re welcome to swing by, since any unclaimed spots will be given away when each class starts.

  • You should still check into class at the front desk when you arrive at the studio.

EXPIRATION

  • Class Card Packages expire 6 months from purchase date.

RETURN & REFUND POLICY:

  • We do NOT offer refunds on any Single Classes, Class Card Packages, Workshops, apparel or merchandise.

  • To cancel a membership, please visit bodenyc.com/cancel 30 days prior to the end of your current billing cycle.

    • You will receive a confirmation email once your membership is canceled.

ETIQUETTE

Be mindful of your punctuality

Our instructors work hard to respect our clients’ schedules by starting and ending class on time. Arriving late can disrupt the focus of both participants and teachers. However, we do realize that things happen. With this in mind, our studio policy is that if there is ample space in the room, you may enter in between postures up until the end of the second set of pranayama breathing (Original Hot Yoga class) and within 5 minutes of start time in any of our other classes (HIIT, Vinyasa, Yin, etc).

Leaving class early

We understand there are times when you may need to leave class early. If you know you need to leave class early, please let the instructor know before the class begins and try your best to set up near the door for an easy exit. We also highly recommend that you allow yourself at least 2 minutes of savasana before you leave. This final relaxation is an important part of the class where your body is able to reap all the benefits of the class and we would hate for you to miss out. If you do need to leave early, please do so before the final savasana begins.

Personal hygiene

At bodē nyc we sweat and breathe together in a heated room. Out of respect for each other, please be mindful of your own body odors. Please wear appropriate yoga clothes — not swimsuits, leotards, or underwear. Refrain from using heavy cologne, lotions, or perfumes, keep your breath fresh, and feet and toenails clean and properly maintained. At the end of class, take a moment to wipe down any extra sweat from the floor around you. If you’re a heavy sweater, please bring an extra towel. Your fellow practitioners will be thankful.

Respect each other’s space

The studios are set up with markers and numbers for mat placement. Please follow the guidelines and set up your mat within the brackets. Refrain from entering or exiting the studio while others are in a posture. Be mindful about your belongings around your mat, especially your water bottle, making sure it is not blocking someone’s vision in the mirror when practicing floor postures/exercises. Please do not bring any bags or clothing into the yoga room.

Keep the Studio a Peaceful Place

Many people think of the studio as an escape from the hectic city we live in. It’s a space for quiet and relaxation.  While we do allow quiet talking in the studio before class begins, please keep the volume low for those wishing to relax and even meditate. Please keep all cell phones, smart watches or any other electronics in your locker. The hot room is a place to completely UNPLUG and your devices will not like the temperature either! In final relaxation at the end of classes, please avoid talking until you are outside of the studio space. Fold your mat and towel up neatly to avoid sweat landing on others who may still be in savasana. Walk softly out of the room.  Observe silence in the yoga room during final savasana.

  • Please remove your shoes when you arrive in the lobby and place them in the cubbies or shelves.
